Xiaoyun Villa

Xiaoyun Villa (筱雲山莊), built in 1866 for Lu Bingnan (呂炳南) and his family, faces south. Its entrance hall and gate towers have gun openings. Cochin ceramics, clay sculpture, carved brick, cut-and-paste decoration and painting adorn the gate towers. Buildings from the Japanese period stand around the Qing residence, and the complex retains a developed water system.

The Lin family residence

Dafudi (大夫第) developed from a house purchased and remodelled by Lin Zhenfang (林振芳), with its initial form completed around 1875. Further wings were added as the family grew. Walls separating the central and side courtyards combine red brick, cobblestone bases and narrow gun openings; a half-moon pond sits before the entrance.
