Hunting scenes at Sangzhu
The rock art lies around Wulaqi Village (乌拉其村) in Kangkeer Kyrgyz Township (康克尔柯尔克孜民族乡). Its name reflects the area’s former inclusion in Sangzhu Township (桑株乡). Simple figures depict hunting and everyday work, with marks resembling writing at the upper right. The county government dates the work to the Song dynasty and records its designation as a Xinjiang regional key cultural relic protection unit in 1962.
Apricots and pomegranates
Mingxing apricots grow in southern mountain districts including Bashilangan Township (巴什兰干乡). Their pale-yellow skins blush red in sunlight; the thick flesh is juicy and sweet, with a stone that separates readily. They are eaten fresh or made into dried apricots and jam. Piyaman sweet pomegranates are principally grown in Piyalema Township (皮亚勒玛乡).
