What to see
Wolong was the setting for “fishing lights”, one of historic Chenggong’s eight celebrated views. Its settlement dates to 1381 and combines waterfront, farmland and hillside communities. A 2025 district account records 252 historic buildings from the Qing and Republican periods, including eleven protected heritage buildings. Kunming recognised it as a historic village in January 2020.
Local produce and crafts
In 2025, the Wulong Qixingshan (乌龙七星山) rural cultural festival brought local grape growers together with wine producers and craft workers. Crystal and purple grapes appeared alongside tile cats (瓦猫), embroidery and sugar painting. The programme included vineyard picking, linking the area’s agriculture with its craft traditions.
