Dongcun and local landmarks
The renovated Dongcun Academy (东村书院) has white walls and dark roof tiles. Artists regularly work at Hongfeng Courtyard (虹风小院), a local guesthouse, and the village also contains spaces for young entrepreneurs and online broadcasting. Other local landmarks include Gumeng Platform (古盟台) and Fajie Temple (法界寺).
Clothing, music and local flavours
Songming’s traditional arts include Han embroidery, Dongjing music (洞经音乐), huadeng performance (花灯) and dough modelling (面塑). Yanglin Feijiu (杨林肥酒) is a local drink. The county’s flower demonstration park maintains varieties of chrysanthemums, moth orchids and roses, alongside flower research and cultivation enterprises.
