Xihe District 细河区

Setting and landscape

The district government describes Xihe as T-shaped. The Fuxin Mongol Autonomous County (阜新蒙古族自治县) wraps around it on the east, north and west, and Haizhou (海州区) and Taiping (太平区) districts lie to the south. Fuxin city lists three subdistricts, Yuxin (玉新), Yulong (玉龙) and Yufeng (玉丰), and one town, Sihe.

Getting oriented

Fuxin Station (阜新站), called Fuxin North while it was being planned, is in Sihe and opened on 29 December 2018 on the Beijing–Shenyang high-speed railway (京沈客运专线). It has two island platforms, with entry by footbridge and exit through an underpass.

What to see

Huangjiagou Resort (黄家沟旅游度假区) is one of Fuxin's five 4A scenic areas and one of its two provincial tourism resorts, and the Fuxin tourism bureau also lists it as a provincial ski resort. The Xihe government reports that it joined Liaoning's 2024 list of night-time culture and tourism clusters, and that a "Huangjiagou hot-spring and ski trip" was named one of the national sports-tourism routes for the 2024 Spring Festival holiday; the district also hosted the Fuxin leg of a national ski orienteering challenge. Huangjiagou village (黄家沟村) in Sihe is one of Fuxin's three national key villages for rural tourism.

Highlights
