Setting and landscape

The Feidu River scenic area lies in Shuping (曙坪). To its northwest it connects with Huang’anba (黄安坝), in Chengkou County (城口县), Chongqing (重庆). Forested slopes rise beside the valley; Chengqiangyan (城墙岩) has conspicuous limestone layers. The valley also preserves traces of migration between Sichuan (四川) and Shaanxi, including old settlement sites and plank roads.

What to see

Nanjiang Lake (南江湖) offers a different county setting in Zhujiexi Village (竹节溪村), Chengguan Town (城关镇). Here the landscape includes fields, a small stream, wooded hills and village guesthouses. Zhenping also lies within an important water-conservation area for the central route of the South-to-North Water Diversion Project (南水北调).
