What to see
Huangu’s tea-themed route links sightseeing tea gardens, a processing factory, tea-oriented guesthouses and an old-street tea market. The Huangu Impressions Hall (焕古印象馆) and craft workshops add displays of local culture. Tea-picking and tea-making activities sit alongside tea-song gatherings, while the old-town tea room pairs a cup of tea with a song.
History
Ziyang was established as a county in 1512. The county government traces its name to the Daoist Zhang Boduan (张伯端), known as Ziyang Zhenren (紫阳真人), who practised here. The county government identifies tea culture, Daoism, folk songs and Han River traditions as interwoven parts of local life..
