Setting and landscape
Gukede’s name means a place where wild geese rest in Yi. Alpine and subalpine lakes, meadows and marshes accompany its suoma flowers (索玛花), growing between 2,800 and 3,200 metres. In June 2024, Tongren Municipal Integrated Media Centre described these flowers covering the slopes around the viewing terrace of Muyun Lodge (牧云山庄), in Jiefanggou Town (解放沟镇).
What to see
Sanhe Village, in Sanchahe Town (三岔河镇), has both an older village site and a resettlement site. Its village history museum was completed in February 2020. Sichuan News in 2022 described orderly houses with Yi features at the new settlement and wall slogans marking the move into new homes.
