A trail built around trees

The reconstructed trail deliberately bends around existing large trees. Wooden boardwalks, viewing platforms, pavilions and outdoor exercise facilities are part of the route. From the ridge, acacia-covered slopes and badland cliffs and valleys lie to the south; Tianzhong’s urban area and the Changhua Plain (彰化平原) spread out to the west. The 1.1-kilometre trail crosses into Mingjian Township (名間鄉) in Nantou County (南投縣). A circuit returns to the starting point without large changes in elevation.

Shared woodland routes

Another network, the Qingshuiyan Trails (清水岩步道群), extends across Tianzhong and Shetou Township (社頭鄉). It includes the Shibawan Salt-carrying Old Trail (十八彎挑鹽古道), Zhongyangling Afforestation Trail (中央嶺造林步道) and a connecting route through the area.
