Donglong Temple
Donglong Temple (東隆宮) was founded in 1706 and rebuilt after waves destroyed its earlier foundations in 1894. Dedicated to Wenfu Qiansui (溫府千歲), it has three halls, five entrances and roofs with upturned ridges. The triennial Welcoming the Kings Festival (迎王祭典) includes building and moving a ceremonial boat, ending with its burning.
Lagoon and seafood
Dapeng Bay (大鵬灣) formed as sediment carried down the Linbian (林邊溪) and Donggang (東港溪) rivers accumulated into spits under the action of currents and monsoon winds. Its enclosed water covers 532 hectares, with mangrove habitats and a cycling route around the bay. Tuna and sakura shrimp (櫻花蝦) are among Donggang’s recognised seafood products.
