Crafts
The Sandimen Craft Trail (三地門工藝步道) runs for about 453 metres along Zhongzheng Road (中正路), beginning at Ege Studio (峨格工作室). Residents created it collectively in 2002, including 1,212 ceramic panels painted by older people and children. Studios on the route work with glass beads, ceramics and clothing; visitors can also make craft pieces themselves.
What to see
Sandimen Cultural Centre (三地門文化館) stands in Zhongshan Park (中山公園), opposite the township office, on the site of a Japanese-period shrine. Its interior includes artifact displays, an audiovisual room and an arts exhibition space. A large installation on the left-hand plaza combines glass beads, a pottery vessel and a bronze knife. The viewing platform overlooks mountain and stream scenery.
