A former timber base
Luodong Forestry Culture Park (羅東林業文化園區) occupies the former forestry office and log-storage pond. Much of the site’s layout survived after Taipingshan logging ended in 1982. The forestry agency planned its cultural reuse in 2004, and it was registered as a cultural landscape in 2012. Zhulin station (竹林車站), the forest railway and the storage pond remain named parts of the visitor landscape.
Culture, food and open space
Luodong Cultural Working House (羅東文化工場) combines contemporary architecture with arts exhibitions. Zhongshan Park (中山公園) and its surrounding lanes connect with traditional snacks; Luodong Night Market (羅東夜市) offers another food destination. Luodong Sports Park (羅東運動公園) provides cycling and walking space among greenery.
