Ponds and plant interpretation
The county guide highlights a loop walk around Wanglongpi, Shengyang’s aquatic-plant farm (勝洋水草) and the aromatic-plant museum Herbelle (香草菲菲). Kavalan Distillery (金車噶瑪蘭威士忌酒廠) introduces whisky making. Fish-ball rice noodles are among Yuanshan’s local foods.
Zhenshan countryside
Zhenshan Leisure Agriculture Area (枕頭山休閒農業區) groups three rural communities around hills, ponds and streams. Its farms grow fruits including kumquats and pink-fleshed guavas, and nurseries display insect-eating plants such as pitcher plants and Venus flytraps. Local bamboo-based dishes include bamboo-tube rice, bamboo-shoot pork-rib soup and bamboo-shoot balls. The locally venerated old tree (大樹公) is associated locally with Taiwanese opera origins.
