Council building and photographic stories
The Yilan People’s Story House (宜蘭人故事館) reuses the former county council building completed in 1959. In a red-brick compound behind it, Ruan Yizhong’s Taiwan Story House (阮義忠台灣故事館) presents photographic work. Zhaoying Temple (昭應宮) retains a front hall with Qing-period character, fine woodcarving and an upper rear hall honouring three historical figures associated with opening Yilan.
Illustrated scenes by the railway
Jimmy Plaza (幾米廣場) recreates scenes from illustrated books including The Starry Starry Night, Turn Left, Turn Right and The Subway. Coloured bus stops, lovers and luggage installations appear around the station, while Diudiudang Forest (丟丟噹森林) has a suspended illustrated train.
