Traditional arts beside the river
The National Center for Traditional Arts’ Yilan park (國立傳統藝術中心宜蘭傳藝園區) stands beside the Dongshan River (冬山河), opposite the water park. Its teaching street draws on shop-house forms from different places, combining craft displays with artisan demonstrations. The reconstructed Huang Juren Residence (黃舉人宅) presents life in a three-sided courtyard house, with a Wen Kui plaque (文魁) above the entrance.
Temple roofs and performance spaces
Wenchang Shrine (文昌祠) has restrained roof decoration and swallowtail ridges. A waterside open-air stage and rural landscape area provide settings for traditional skills and performances, while Quyi Hall (曲藝館) presents traditional theatre. Beyond the arts centre, the Lize (利澤) area is associated with duck delicacies called yashang (鴨賞).
