A north-facing monastery

Reting stands halfway up a hillside in Tanggu Village (唐古村), Tanggu Township (唐古乡), within Reting National Forest Park (热振国家森林公园). It lies about ninety-five kilometres from the county seat. The monastery faces north, and its main hall covers approximately 3,392 square metres. Images of Jiangbai Dorje (江白多吉) and White Tara (白度母) are enshrined in the hall.

Reservoirs and fields for wintering birds

Black-necked cranes arrive during November and December to spend the winter in Lhünzhub. Their main areas include Kazi Reservoir (卡孜水库), Hutoushan Reservoir (虎头山水库) in Chundui Township (春堆乡), and the fields and wetlands of Qiangga (强嘎乡) and Songpan (松盘乡) townships. The county’s southern Pengbo area (彭波) forms part of the Yarlung Tsangpo (雅鲁藏布江) middle-valley crane reserve.
