What to see
The Yarlung Tsangpo Grand Canyon (雅鲁藏布大峡谷) extends from Daduka Village (大渡卡村) in Mainling (米林) to Baxika Village (巴昔卡村) in Motuo. Linduo Bend (林多大拐弯), Guoguotang Bend (果果塘大拐弯) and Liberation Bridge (解放大桥) provide views of the river. Lotus Pavilion (莲花阁) houses the county’s Monba and Lhoba heritage museum; Badeng Old Village (巴登老村) has traditional Monba buildings, while Zhu Village (珠村) introduces Lhoba buildings and culture.
Forest and wildlife
Its varied climate spans tropical, subtropical, temperate and cold belts. Nature stations in Lotus Park (莲花公园) explain birds, butterflies and giant trees through images and interactive displays. The bird station introduces species including the rufous-necked hornbill and hongfu jiaozhi (红腹角雉); the butterfly station uses photography and comics.
