Voice, dance and instruments
Singers traditionally practise sustained notes close to a wall and train beside a roaring river. Performances incorporate six-string singing and dancing from the Duixie (堆谐) tradition, as well as drinking songs. Players can hold the zhanian lute (扎念琴) above their heads or behind their backs while playing and dancing. Jiongba Tibetan opera entered the first national intangible cultural heritage list in 2006.
Culture beside Jinmucuo
The Thangtong Gyalpo Cultural Tourism Park (唐东杰布文化旅游园区) stands beside Jinmucuo Lake (金木措) in the county seat. Its components include a memorial exhibition hall devoted to Thangtong Gyalpo, a cultural square and a cycling track around the high-altitude lake.
