Naiqiaqiemu’s sculpted caves
Naiqiaqiemu Caves (乃加切木石窟) occupy a conglomerate cliff north of the Yeru Tsangpo (叶茹藏布), south of Naijia Village (乃加村). Five entrances face south, more than ten metres above the ground. Two caves contain Buddhist images; thirty-three clay relief figures include Buddhas and bodhisattvas, accompanied by lions, elephants, horses, peacocks and lotus designs.
Earth forest and monastery objects
West of Chorten Nyima is an earth-forest formation (土林), about 1.2 kilometres long, shaped by running-water erosion. The monastery’s objects include a carved bone piece showing the Eight Immortals (八仙), a wooden ritual dagger and a fragment of a carved wooden halo dated to around the eleventh or twelfth century.
