A broad river landscape
The river passes through a wide valley containing naturally formed islets and abundant birds and other animals. Along this stretch are Sangburi Ecological Park (桑布日生态园), Longba Folk Culture Village (陇巴民俗文化村) and Dorje Drak Monastery (多吉扎寺). Fertile riverside land supports farming and herding. Lhasa Gonggar Airport (拉萨贡嘎机场) stands in Gyazhugling Town (甲竹林镇).
Old settlements and painted walls
Jedexiu Town (杰德秀镇) is one of Tibet’s historic towns. The county also contains the Changguogou site (昌果沟遗址), dating back more than 3,500 years, and Chöde Monastery (曲德寺), known for its murals. Local cultural traditions include Changguo zhuo dance (昌果卓舞), Jina’s Wangguo festival (吉纳望果节) and the monastery’s Aqiangmu tradition (阿羌姆).
