Plants and village gardens
Dunkuotan’s ecological grassland contains wild dogbane, liquorice, tamarisk and poplar, and supports the locally named Luobu sheep (罗布羊). The Bahargul Cultural Garden (巴哈尔古丽风情园), established in 2013, has grape and red-date orchards as well as a vegetable garden.
Four parts of local history
The Lop Nur Museum (罗布淖尔博物馆), whose construction began in 1999, has an introductory hall and sections devoted to ancient history, modern history and folk customs. In Daxi Village (达西村), within Xingping Town (兴平镇), a separate visitor area includes a village exhibition hall, a cultural landscape avenue and a nang-bread (馕) culture street. Regional foods featured by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism include Lop-style grilled fish, hand-eaten meat and red-willow grilled meat.
