Underground water and chambers
The Alu caves combine underground karst formations with rivers, lakes, waterfalls and springs. Their varied layout includes caves within caves and a river running inside the system. The developed sections include Luyuan Cave (泸源洞), Yuzhu Cave (玉柱洞), Biyu Cave (碧玉洞) and the water-filled Yusun River passage (玉笋河).
Village buildings and crafts
Chengzi Ancient Village (城子古村) preserves Yi tuzhang houses (土掌房), a building tradition with a history of more than six centuries. Elsewhere in the county’s cultural repertoire are embroidery, woodcarving, stone carving and paper cutting. Local dance traditions include Sani tiger dancing and Miao performances using the lusheng (芦笙).
