Wooden courtyards and exhibition halls
The Zhaxi Conference Site (扎西会议会址) is a timber courtyard with wooden columns and lattice windows. At Zhaxi Red Town (扎西红色小镇), stone-paved lanes run among local-style houses. The memorial museum uses photographs, text and objects to explain the Long March, while reconstructed scenes and holographic projection add other ways of presenting the history. The county also has a Long March slogan museum.
Stone villages and local dishes
Shuitian Town (水田镇) combines the Huafangzi Conference Site (花房子会议旧址) with the landscapes of Yashang Stone Village (崖上石寨) and Chishuiya Gorge (赤水崖峡谷). Reused village houses accommodate rural stays. Weixin’s named foods include laoguo griddle cooking (烙锅), sour-soup pig’s trotters, old-street erkuai rice cakes (饵块) and spicy fish.
