Bridge and canal history
Guangji Bridge (广济桥), also called Tongji Bridge (通济桥), has seven stone arches and views over both sides of the canal. A statue commemorates Chen Shouqing (陈守清), the merchant who raised funds for its construction during the Ming dynasty. The Qianlong Imperial Stele (乾隆御碑) on Shuibei Street (水北街) records an imperial tax remission.
Local collections
Tangqi Academy (塘栖书院) has an audio wall of stories about integrity. The intangible-heritage hall presents shadow puppetry and the history of the local Hexidai troupe (河西埭皮影剧团). Linping Gazetteer Hall (临平方志馆) occupies two buildings in Ming and Qing styles, with six exhibition rooms using texts, pictures, multimedia and objects to present local history and scenery.
