Highland villages and crops
Daji lies southwest of the county town, above 1,000 metres and surrounded by steep mountain ridges. Highland vegetable cultivation forms part of its village economy. Tea is also grown in Jinqiu Village (金坵村), in Chengzhao Township (澄照乡), providing another agricultural thread in the county’s mountain landscape.
She dress and celebration
Dajun’s Window of the She Homeland (畲乡之窗) offers experiences involving She clothing and intangible cultural heritage. During the county’s 2025 Sanyuesan Festival (三月三), celebrations brought together She songs, dances and ceremonial toasts. Theatrical performances drew on She stories, while activities introduced wedding traditions and other inherited customs.
