The old gold-mine landscape
Suichang Gold Mine National Mining Park (遂昌金矿国家矿山公园) preserves a site with more than a thousand years of mining history. The park draws on ancient mining remains, historic workings and the surrounding ecology. Its development reflects the reuse of a mining landscape after declining mineral resources and environmental pressures prompted changes in the industry.
Forests and older settlements
Jiulongshan Nature Reserve (九龙山自然保护区) contains old-growth forest, while Suichang National Forest Park (遂昌国家森林公园) provides another woodland setting. The county’s named cultural and landscape destinations include Dushan Historic Village (独山历史文化名村), Miaogao Mountain Park (妙高山公园) and the Wuxijiang reservoir landscape (乌溪江).
