Hekou’s river landscape

Hekou Village (河口村), in Gaojiecun Town (高杰村镇), stands at the confluence, 48 kilometres from the county town. Exposed bedrock, cliffs, rapids and gorge scenery shape the setting. The village’s jujube groves include the local muzao variety (木枣), which is particularly associated with the meeting of the two rivers.

Literary and performance traditions

Qingjian’s cultural visitor sites include Lu Yao Academy (路遥书苑), Lu Yao Literature Village (路遥文学村) and Rensheng Film and Television Town (人生影视城). Local performance culture includes Qingjian daoqing (清涧道情). The county also has remains of Yangshao and Longshan cultures (仰韶文化、龙山文化) and the Shang-period tomb group at Zhaigou (寨沟).
