Lions at different scales
Thirty-four carved columns stand along the square’s sides, bearing different lion forms, folk designs and auspicious patterns. The contrast between these monumental works and the small kang-side lions in the museum makes the range of Suide’s stone craft visible. The square also serves as a place for local walking and recreation.
Shushushan above the rivers
Shushushan (疏属山) rises between the Dali River (大理河) and Wuding River (无定河). Stone steps and old trees accompany sites associated with Fusu (扶苏) and Meng Tian (蒙恬). Suide Revolutionary History Memorial Museum (绥德革命历史纪念馆) adds photographs and historical objects, while the summit overlooks the river confluence and the old and new urban districts.
