Stone walls and river rapids
Wubu Stone City (吴堡石城) has stone houses, streets and lanes, with walls following the cliff edge. It served as the county seat from 1226 until 1936. At the Yellow River Erqi Rapids (黄河二碛), the water faces Qikou Old Town (碛口古镇) across the river. A sculpture called Son of the Yellow River (黄河之子) stands in Erqi Square (二碛广场).
Hollow noodles and green pears
Wubu hollow noodles (吴堡空心挂面) use wheat flour, water and salt. Hand production involves repeated resting of the dough before the finished strands are bundled. Wubu green pears (吴堡青梨) have smooth green skins and dense white flesh, with a crisp, sweet and juicy texture.
