A stone city above the gorge
Yunding Stone City (云顶石城) stands above Jintang Gorge (金堂峡) on the Tuo River. It was one of the Song army’s fortified mountain strongholds in the wars against the Yuan. Ciyun Temple (慈云寺) occupies the summit of Mount Yunding (云顶山), where the surviving wartime site forms part of the mountain visit.
Old town and riverbank
Wufengxi lies in the southwestern corner of Jintang County, with hills and rivers shaping the townscape. Its named sights include Guansheng Palace (关圣宫), Nanhua Palace (南华宫) and bends in the Huangshui River (黄水河). The Tianfu Tuo River Greenway (天府沱江绿道) follows the Tuo River for 23 kilometres, with separate cycling and walking paths.
