Peach villages

Gulou is a spring peach-blossom destination. Zhaojiamiao Village (赵家庙村) was an early centre of the local peach industry; village leader Feng Yong (冯勇) recalled planting peaches with another villager on small plots in the 1980s. The Xichong Peach Culture Expo Park (西充桃文化博览园) presents local farming and ecological culture alongside northern Sichuan folk customs. Some growers and villagers also run farmhouse restaurants.

Erjingtiao chillies

Xichong erjingtiao chillies (西充二荆条辣椒) have thin skins, thick flesh, bright colour and relatively few seeds. They supply ingredients for Pixian douban (郫县豆瓣) and Chongqing (重庆) hotpot seasonings. The chillies received national geographical indication product protection from the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine in 2010.
