Setting and landscape
Lishanzhai (立山寨), at 793 metres, is the county’s highest point. Narrow valleys cut through the uplands, while flatter ground follows the Jialing River (嘉陵江) around Xinzheng (新政). The river leaves the county at Shifoyan Village (石佛岩村), where the elevation drops to 308 metres. Between the hills, elongated patches of level land form important rice-growing areas.
What to see
Zhu De’s Hometown (朱德故里) centres a visit on revolutionary history. At the Zhu De Former Residence Memorial Museum (朱德同志故居纪念馆), historical photographs, artefacts and film materials present his revolutionary career. In August 2025, the county tourism bureau described revolutionary-history performances staged in the wider scenic area.
