Lehua’s street layout

Lehua stretches across Yongping Road (永平路), part of Baofu Road (保福路) and Lane 18 of Baoping Road (保平路18巷). Food stalls occupy both ends of Yongping Road, with clothing and shoe shops concentrated in the middle. Dishes include peppery fried-pork-rib soup with radish, oyster omelettes using water spinach, and crisp potstickers filled with pork and yellow chives.

Korean goods and migration

The Korean commercial area dates to the 1950s, when ethnic Chinese from Korea with Shandong (山東) origins settled in Yonghe and brought Korean goods to Taiwan. Korea Street sells noodles, seaweed, kimchi, ginseng, clothing and household items. Everyday-Korean language boards and a Korean children’s-games area add cultural interpretation to the shopping street.
