Factories become pottery shops

Yingge Old Street (鶯歌老街), formally named in 2000, includes former ceramic factories converted into shops and hands-on spaces. The pottery quarter spans Taoci Street (陶瓷街), Jianshanpu Road (尖山埔路), Chongqing Street (重慶街) and Yuying Street (育英街). Studios and shops display tableware, tea sets, ceramic ocarinas and pieces finished with crystalline glazes. A railway footbridge at the entrance overlooks the street and passing trains.

Ceramics framed by water and glass

New Taipei City Yingge Ceramics Museum (新北市立鶯歌陶瓷博物館) traces Taiwan’s ceramic development. Exposed concrete, steel framing and transparent glass shape the building. Stone steps and a bridge over water lead past pools and a water wall, while interior spaces combine stone, wood and textured walls.
