Nine springs beneath the hill

Nine springs stand in a row and flow throughout the year. Yanxi Lake (燕西湖) has reed-covered islands where wild ducks and other birds nest. Steps climb Yanzi Mountain (燕子山), with ancient shell fossils and unusual geological formations along the way. The park’s historical features include mint remains and carved stone inscriptions.

Sea buckthorn and wooden paths

The Sea Buckthorn Forest Wetland Scenic Area (沙棘林湿地旅游景区) has paths combining wooden boardwalk, gravel and concrete surfaces. Streams, springs, marsh and grassland appear along the route, together with a lookout tower and pavilions. Wild sea buckthorn, Euphrates poplar, roses and tamarisk grow here; pheasants, wild ducks and hares inhabit the wetland. In autumn, ripe sea buckthorn berries brighten the shrubs.
