Mountain pasture and fruit
The terrain descends broadly from northeast to southwest through mountains, hills and plains. Tohulasu Grassland (托乎拉苏大草原) lies on the northern slopes of the Tianshan Mountains (天山), with snow peaks in the distance and sheep on the grassland. Orchards elsewhere in the county produce apricots, mulberries, grapes, apples and pears; the large white apricots are particularly fleshy and sweet.
Swans and rime
Swan Spring (天鹅泉), in Yingtamu Town (英塔木镇), has a distinct winter landscape. Water vapour forms rime on the poplar branches beside the spring, while swans float through the mist above the water. Other natural features include Aktash Waterfall (阿克塔什瀑布) and Lianxin Island (连心岛) in the Ili River.
