Spruce and river-valley grassland
Kurdening lies in the county’s southeastern mountains. Its named sights include Qimengde Spruce Forest (齐梦德云杉林), riverside grassland and wildflower areas, Ayousai upland grassland (阿尤赛空中草原) and Shili Gallery (十里画廊). Qiaxi Forest Park (恰西森林公园) is seventy-two kilometres from the county seat. Snow melts early in its river valley, and grass greens by mid-April. Its sights include Swallow Bridge (燕子桥), Shimen Waterfall (石门瀑布) and Qiaxi Spring (恰西圣泉).
A gorge devoted to wild walnut trees
Wild Walnut Gorge (野核桃沟) lies thirteen kilometres from the county seat, within the Yishigelike Mountains (伊什格力克山). Its attractions include a wild walnut exhibition hall, a suspension bridge and a tree known as the Walnut King (核桃王). The wooded site covers around 1,200 hectares.
