Xingyun’s wetland landscape
The wetlands around Xingyun Lake connect terrestrial and wetland ecosystems, helping conserve water and biodiversity. The lake is an important point on a migratory-bird route through China. Its national wetland park passed acceptance at the end of 2021; documented protected wildlife includes glossy ibis and Baer’s pochard. Wanghai Wharf (望海码头), on the lakeshore, has hosted public wetland interpretation and bird-awareness activities.
Bronzes and everyday life
Yunnan Lijiashan Bronze Museum (云南李家山青铜器博物馆) presents the region’s ancient bronze culture. A thematic exhibition launched in late 2025 brought together excavated bronzes, other museum objects and modern craftwork. Its objects included Han-period bronze drums and spears, while the displays examined daily life, casting methods and customs through artefacts and reconstructed scenes.
