Setting and landscape
Qingchuan Tourism Development Bureau’s 2018 overview groups Tangjiahe, Guanmao Mountain (官帽山) and Qinglong Lake (青龙湖) in the western tourism area. It places Bailong Lake (白龙湖) in the eastern waterside area, and Qingchuan Earthquake Relics National Geopark (青川地震遗迹国家地质公园) in the southern mountain area.
What to see
Mountains surround the basin containing Qingxi. Above its dark roofline rises a mosque with a golden dome and a tall spire; painted buildings in Islamic styles line the streets. The Qingzhu River (青竹江) flows outside the town.
Food and local products
Qingxi’s Hui food traditions include halal banquets, the nine-bowl feast known as qingzhen jiudawan (清真九大碗), charcoal-heated copper hotpot and hand-eaten lamb.
