Everyday life carved in stone
The Luxian Song Dynasty Stone Carvings Museum (泸县宋代石刻博物馆) stands below Yuchan Mountain (玉蟾山). Its displays include warriors, servants, musicians and mythical animals. One servant holds a wine vessel beside a table and chair; another carries a folding chair on his shoulders. A high-relief dragon turns its head towards its tail, its feet resting on clouds.
A bridge without mortar
Longnao Bridge spans the Jiuqu River (九曲河) on the northern outskirts of the county seat, along the old post road between Luzhou (泸州) and Longchang (隆昌). Built in the Ming dynasty (明代), it has twelve piers and thirteen openings. Four layers of sandstone blocks form the piers, stacked without mortise-and-tenon joints or mortar.
