The salt landscape
The salt mountain hosts sculpture displays, and fresh salt is laid over its weathered surface before major salt-art events. Large themed figures have stood on the summit, with earlier figures retained around the grounds after new themes replace them. The white salt makes a strong visual contrast with a clear blue sky.
Lagoon and sandbar
Cigu Lagoon (七股潟湖), locally called Neihai-a (內海仔), is a remnant of the former Taijiang Inland Sea (台江內海). Raft trips pass oyster racks and fixed fishing nets. Egrets and fiddler crabs inhabit the surrounding mangroves. Offshore, Wangziliaoshan sandbar (網仔寮汕) has casuarina woodland and beach morning-glory groundcover, with views towards the Taiwan Strait (台灣海峽).
