Chimei’s classical setting

Opened in Tainan Metropolitan Park (台南都會公園) in 2015, Chimei has a domed entrance and different forms of Greek columns. Visitors approach past an Apollo fountain (阿波羅噴泉) and a bridge lined with figures of the Olympian gods (奧林帕斯眾神). A Glory Angel (榮耀天使) holding a wreath and horn crowns the building above its art collections.

Sugar buildings and drum performance

Ten Drum reuses 22 Japanese-period warehouses and sugar-factory buildings. Performances by the Ten Drum Art Percussion Group (十鼓擊樂團) bring drumming into the industrial setting. Large molasses tanks have become recreation spaces and a café, while an elevated walkway links three tanks. The park also incorporates physical challenge activities.
