What to see
Brown Boulevard (伯朗大道) runs through rice fields with mountains in the distance. The rural road became widely known after appearing in a Mr. Brown Coffee (伯朗咖啡) advertisement. The fields change from green to gold as the crop develops, and the area is used for cycling and walking. Dapo Pond (大坡池), an inland freshwater marsh, has a lakeside walking path and cycle route.
Rice and local history
Chishang rice is used in the township's well-known boxed meals. Chishang Lunchbox Cultural Story House (池上飯包文化故事館) explains their history. At the Diniu Story House (地牛故事館), the subject changes to geology: exhibits introduce the active Chishang Fault (池上斷層), which undergoes slow displacement and deformation.
