Riverbanks and beaver habitat

The winding Bulgan River (布尔根河) has densely vegetated banks within the Bulgan Beaver Nature Reserve (布尔根河狸自然保护区), established to protect beavers and their habitat. Elsewhere, the Daqing River Scenic Area (大青河景区) has forest and grassland along its banks, with riverside walking among its outdoor activities.

Museum objects and Kazakh traditions

Qinggil County Museum (青河县博物馆) holds stone tools, bronze objects and traditional ethnic clothing. In Chagan Gol Township (查干郭勒乡), felt yurts stand on the grassland, and local Kazakh foods include hand-eaten meat and fermented mare’s milk. Akin singing (阿肯弹唱) is another part of the county’s Kazakh culture: performers improvise songs with dombra (冬不拉) accompaniment, drawing their subjects from everyday life.
