A village devoted to painting

Dolan Painting Village lies seven kilometres south of the county’s urban area. Developed in 2013 around local farmers’ paintings, it organises painting creation, sales and training. Regular training classes and study visits for painters form part of its work. The scenic area received a national four-A tourism rating in 2015.

Development along the thirty-ninth parallel

The N39° area lies on the thirty-ninth parallel north and began development in 2016. Its zones include off-road experiences, desert sports, camping and special expeditions. Named installations include the Gate of Time (时光之门), Time Tunnel (时光隧道) and Hourglass (时光沙漏), alongside a camel area and desert-driving base. Makit hosted rounds of the Taklimakan Rally (环塔拉力赛) in 2019, 2023 and 2024.
