A tower beside the river
Yuewang Tower stands beside the Fu River (涪江). Its cultural displays include galleries devoted to the tower’s history, Tang culture (唐文化) and famous Chinese towers. More than 150 poems associated with it include works by Li Bai (李白) and Du Fu (杜甫). The district also contains Fule Mountain (富乐山) and the Li–Du Shrine (李杜祠).
Horses in the museum
On North Furong Road (芙蓉路北段), Mianyang Museum’s horse exhibition includes lacquered wooden horses, pottery horses and an Eastern Han (东汉) bronze figure leading a horse. The wooden horses were excavated in 1995 from Shuangbaoshan Tomb No. 2 (双包山二号墓). Arranged in ranks, they have raised heads, upright ears and open mouths.

Mianyang Museum is the municipal museum of Mianyang, Sichuan, in Youxian district. Its own introduction describes it as a project of the reconstruction that followed the '5.12' Wenchuan earthquake, opened in December 2016 and graded a second-class national museum, and its collection is built around Han-dynasty finds from local tombs, including horse figures, a bronze money tree and an early model of the body's channels.
