Ziyun Pavilion stands in Xishan Park (西山公园), among woodland, bamboo and osmanthus. The district tourism bureau’s route takes in Yunü Lake (玉女湖), Ziyun Academy (子云书院), Yunü Spring (玉女泉), Yang Xiong’s Reading Platform (扬雄读书台), Ximo Pool (洗墨池) and Xianyun Temple (仙云观). The 126 Cultural Creative Park (126文化创意园) reuses former factory premises; developed in 2013, it includes artist studios and places to eat.

Food and local products

Mianyang rice noodles (绵阳米粉) are particularly thin and absorb their broth readily. Broth styles include red, clear and mixed versions. Toppings can include chicken, bamboo shoots or kelp, with pickled greens, coriander and spring onion added according to taste.

Mianyang Science and Technology Museum is a 'Two Bombs, One Satellite' themed museum beside the Furong stream in Youxian district, Mianyang, Sichuan. In May 2014 it was designated a national AAAA-grade tourist attraction, which Mianyang Investment Holding, the state-owned company whose corporate site carries a brand page for the museum, describes as the first within Mianyang's urban core.
