Leizu’s commemorative landscape

The Leizu Hometown scenic area (嫘祖故里) brings together a commemorative tomb, Leizu Lake (嫘祖湖), a ritual square, old mulberry groves and wooden boardwalks. Local observances include silkworm-dragon dances, lantern lighting, opera and worship of the silkworm deity. The scenic area covers 2.14 square kilometres. Other monuments include the Leizu Sacred Land Stele (嫘祖圣地碑).

Bamboo and river fish

Wen Tong Poetry and Bamboo Garden (文同诗竹园) adds extensive bamboo groves to the county’s sights. Bamboo shoots stewed with chicken are among the foods served there. Elsewhere, a Yanting speciality bears the unusual local name muzhuke (母猪壳): mandarin fish. The fish is offered alongside local farmhouse dishes.
