An aircraft-shaped museum
The museum belongs to Xi’an Aeronautical Polytechnic Institute (西安航空职业技术学院) and stands in the core of the national aviation high-technology industrial base. Its exterior takes the form of an aircraft. Two dedicated galleries cover world aviation history and Chinese aviation history, placing the technical displays within a wider account of flight.
From design to flight
Other exhibition areas explain the principles of flight, aircraft structure and aviation engines. The sequence also includes aircraft design, manufacture and flight testing, along with flight-environment support and aviation weapons. Jointly developed by the industrial base and the institute, the museum combines public aviation education with practical teaching and introductions to the industry.
